The use of social networks and the Internet on a regular basis can result in the dullness of humanity. This assumption on Friday, November 5, was shared by Areg Mkrtychyan, Associate Professor of the Department of Clinical Psychology of the Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University.

Degradation, as the expert pointed out, is the result of the loss of thinking skills, which is characteristic of the category of people who do not let their smartphones out of their hands. He also noted: a living example of such a trend is the generation of zoomers – these are people born in the period from the second half of the 1990s to the second half of the 2010s.

“I have been teaching at the university for about 20 years, and not only with psychologists. I work with doctors, lawyers, technical specialists and observe the reverse dynamics from generation to generation. Modern students absolutely do not know how to work with large amounts of information. Especially if this information is complicated, “the specialist said during an interview with lenta.ru.

The psychologist is sure: the buzzers are trying to live according to a ready-made scenario, which, according to Mkrtychyan, is confirmed by devices for sculpting snowballs.

“This is some kind of innovation, but this will start the degradation of our children: even at this level, they do not develop fine motor skills. Further – more: at first they do not know how to sculpt a snowball, then they do not know how to write a simple essay, and then – to read a large text, ”the expert explained.

Mkrtychyan recommended limiting the use of social networks and reading more books as part of increasing intelligence.

Earlier, on November 2, Olga Bakshutova, head of the BestDoctor medical consultation department, explained the anxiety people feel about unread messages. According to her, one of the reasons for this phenomenon is a strong information load.
