After a consensus between the bench of the Workers’ Party (PT) and an agreement with the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Arthur Lira (Progressives), Congressman Rui Falcao (PT) was set to chair the Constitution, Justice and Citizenship Commission (CCJ), considered the most important of the Chamber. Rui Falcão is 79 years old, he was president of the PT during Dilma Rousseff’s government and is one of the parliamentarians closest to the president Lula (PT). A meeting formed by the different internal currents of the PT defined the name that will assume the CCJ and should be made official next Tuesday, the 14th. Lula’s mandate. In the following year, the idea is that the liberal party (PL), which is part of the opposition to the government and has the largest group, assume the presidency of the commission in 2024.

Deputy Arthur Lira, who was re-elected president of the House with a record number of votes, made an agreement with virtually all parties in the Chamber, including the PL and PT, which represent the largest groups. Other positions have also been distributed to compose the various committees of the Chamber. Five new special commissions were created to serve the parties.
