(24 News) Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has withdrawn from the petition filed by Advocate Faisal Hussain Chaudhry in the Islamabad High Court to provide facilities to its founding chairman Imran Khan in jail.

According to the details, Advocate Faisal Chaudhry has claimed that this application was filed with the consent of Chairman PTI Barrister Gohar Ali Khan.

However, Barrister Gohar Ali said in his post on the micro-blogging website X that Faisal Chaudhry made this request using Imran Khan’s old power of attorney against the instructions of our legal team. He was dropped from the IA’s legal team and party secretary general Salman Akram Raja also dissociated him from all cases related to founder PTI, while he has also been removed from PTI lawyers’ WhatsApp groups. , Barrister Gauhar also confirmed this on Saturday night.

In response to which Faisal Chaudhry said in his message on the social networking website Twitter that he can understand that Barrister Gohar is under severe pressure.

There are allegations against Faisal Chaudhry that he was working with Imran Khan’s spokesperson Intizar Panjotha to facilitate the return of some leaders to the party.

It may be noted that Fawad Chaudhry, brother of Advocate Faisal Chaudhry, was earlier part of the federal cabinet in the PTI government, but left the party during the crackdown on its leaders after the change of government in 2022.

The petition filed in the Islamabad High Court claimed that Imran Khan’s political opponents are bent on undermining his commitment to democracy, the rule of law, the constitution and the people of Pakistan.

It has been alleged that since October 3 this year, the PTI founder has been deprived of his legal rights and subjected to harsh conditions by the jail authorities. Those who violate jail rules.

The petition states that the former prime minister was kept in a 6-by-8-foot death cell for the whole day and was being subjected to mental torture by not allowing him to exercise or walk while the electricity in his cell was also disconnected for several days. And they were kept alone in a dark room for 12 to 14 hours.

The petition cited reports about the poor quality of food being provided to Imran Khan, which is causing him severe stomach pain.

The petitioner said that since October 3, Imran Khan has not even been provided with newspapers or other reading material so that he could remain ignorant of the ongoing crackdown on his family and workers.

The petition has requested the High Court to direct the jail authorities to restore the former prime minister’s facilities.
