jpnn.com – Indonesian House of Representatives Speaker Puan Maharani was not present when the parliament held a Plenary Meeting with the agenda of ratifying the Regional Election Bill at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday (22/8).
Secretary General of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Indra Iskandar, stated that Puan, who is also a PDIP politician, is currently conducting a working visit to Hungary and Serbia, so she was absent from the Plenary Meeting on Thursday.
“In the context of a working visit to attend an invitation from the two parliaments of the countries in the Central European region,” said Indra to the media crew, Thursday.
According to him, Puan’s visit to the European country is expected to strengthen Indonesia’s bilateral relations with Hungary and Serbia.
“This bilateral inter-parliamentary meeting is expected to strengthen bilateral relations between Indonesia and Hungary and Serbia,” said Indra.
The bespectacled man continued that Puan was accompanied by a number of members of the Indonesian House of Representatives during her visit to Hungary and Serbia and was received by the local National Assembly.
“From Hungary, Puan and the DPR delegation will continue their journey to Serbia on August 26, 2024,” he said.
