The secretary general of the CGT, Sophie Binet, who will be received on Wednesday by the Prime Minister, will ask that public aid to companies be “conditioned” on social objectives, such as higher wages, and environmental ones.

Elisabeth Borne is due to receive the five representative unions on Tuesday and Wednesday – CFDT, CGT, FO, CFE-CGC, CFTC – as part of the protest against the pension reform, pending the 14th day of mobilization on Tuesday June 6. There is no agenda but the CGT will arrive “with extremely specific requests”, said Sunday Sophie Binet, guest of the Grand Jury RTL-LCI-Le Figaro.

The number one of the CGT wants to talk about wages, asking for their indexation to prices, as well as the “conditionality of public aid” to companies which receive “200 billion euros each year without social or environmental conditions”. “It is no longer possible to multiply the gifts” to companies, launched Sophie Binet. Conditioning public aid would, according to her, constitute a “major lever which would allow, for example, to put pressure on companies to increase wages”.

Air France and Sanofi singled out

“It is not possible to have public aid when we are laying off, when we do not respect professional equality, when we increase exponentially the dividends and salaries of CEOs and when salaries are stagnating”, he said. she estimated. She pointed the finger at the managing director of Air France-KLM, Benjamin Smith, who “has just announced the tripling of his salary” while Air France “has received billions in state-guaranteed loans” and ” was one of the first beneficiaries of public Covid aid”.

She also pinned the French laboratory Sanofi “which has benefited from nearly a billion research tax credit (CIR) and which at the same time has halved its number of researchers”. The leader of the CGT proposes that this aid be subject to validation by staff representatives, who “would judge whether the social and environmental objectives are met”.
