INTERVIEW – The Minister of Health once again urges the French to call “15” before going to the emergency room.

LE FIGARO. – Like every summer, emergencies are under tension. What is the situation?

Francois Brown. – The organization we are putting in place is the regulation of access to emergencies, as we did last summer. Of course, I see the alerts that are coming up, especially via the press, and I am aware of the concerns of elected officials and the population. However, the regional health agencies (ARS), obviously very mobilized during this period, tell me rather that the difficulties are less than last year, even if hot spots are identified in certain territories. This is the case of regions which already suffer in normal times from a lack of medical presence: Centre-Val-de-Loire, Brittany, Dordogne. Another characteristic of summer is seasonality. Tourist regions are used to managing the influx of people. There may be occasional difficulties, such as at the Saint-Tropez hospital in Gassin, but they are about to be resolved thanks…
