The Chennai Police today issued an order banning people from coming to the beach following reports that students were going to protest at the Chennai Marina Beach.

The Tamil Nadu government announced last week that the examinations would be conducted directly in all colleges. Students have been protesting against the announcement and demanding that exams be held online.
In this context, it was reported that students were going to take part in a protest at Marina Beach today. More than a hundred policemen have been deployed along the coast since then. The service road in the marina was closed.
Also, the police announced today that the public is not allowed to come to Marina Beach.
