A petition was filed with the Collector seeking to prevent private individuals from selling the plots allotted to the beneficiaries in Kallakurichi-Kallakurichi next Parikam village.
Petition submitted on behalf of Kottakarai villagers:
In the last year 2009, in Chinnasalem, next Parikam panchayat, plots were set up for 128 homeless poor people on behalf of the Backward and Minorities Welfare Department.
A total of 128 beneficiaries were selected for this, 40 in Parikam village and 88 in Kotakkarai village.
But instead of allocating these plots to the selected beneficiaries, an individual from Kotakkarai village is selling the plots by collecting lakhs of money from unqualified persons.
Due to this, plots are not available to selected beneficiaries. Also, the house could not be built as there was no place available in the Prime Minister’s housing scheme.
Therefore steps should be taken to provide the above mentioned houses to the selected beneficiaries.
