Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami held a meeting with a section of the People’s Rights Council on the prevailing situation in the country. On Tuesday (August 13), the meeting held at the Moghbazar office of the party discussed in detail the ongoing situation including maintaining peace and order in the country.
The leaders of both the parties called upon the administration to crack down on those creating anarchy in the country as well as cooperation of businessmen to revive the economy.
At that time, the leaders said that the country has been freed from fascism due to the movement of the students. Now the country must be built. We have to work across party lines to take the country to a place of meaningful, stable and progressive development. We want to establish a society of communal harmony without discrimination.
They said that the will of the nation should be reflected through the current interim government. For this, the government should be given an opportunity to work. The government should provide all kinds of cooperation. The activities of the advisers will reveal the aspirations of the students and their honesty and patriotism in the uprising.
They demanded that the armed murderous cadres who instructed, assisted and sponsored the massacre be brought under the law and brought to justice. The leaders emphasized on continuing the exchange of views and solidarity with all groups opposed to the fallen government.
