jpnn.comSEMARANG – The issue of Kendal Regent Dico Ganinduto’s resignation from the Semarang Mayoral Candidate Exchange for the 2024 Regional Head Election (Pilkada) has attracted the attention of netizens on social media.

On social media, Dico was actually flooded with support from the public through social media who wanted him to continue running in the Semarang City Pilkada, Central Java.

Strategic Communication expert Tuhu Nugraha assessed that public support from social media could be a consideration for the party to nominate Dico as a Candidate for Mayor of Semarang.

“Because it is now common knowledge that one of the factors in deciding on a candidate is popularity on social media,” said Tuhu.

“Therefore, the aspirations of social media as one of the determinants of party decision-making in determining regional head candidates are valid,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Director of the Information Society Development and Empowerment Institute (LPPMI) Kamilov Sagala said that voter sensitivity can be seen from the performance achievements of a candidate from the region he once led.

“Dico’s performance achievements were assessed by voters when building Kendal City, this is a point of Dico’s performance that can be tested and can also be seen directly by the public,” said Kamilov.

Because according to him, someone who is known is not enough to be a candidate. He said voters are now more critical and sharp in judging someone.
