From 1is December, the cost of a 10-pass ticket giving access to all transportation networks throughout the metropolitan area (All ABC modes) will be reduced by $ 10, from $ 64 to $ 54. This reduction of $ 10 represents a decrease of almost 16%.

In addition, the six-pass TRAM 3 pass, which gives access to suburban trains and STM networks, will be reduced from $ 29.50 to $ 27, a reduction of 8.5%.

The third tariff measure is more intriguing. The ARTM is creating a new pass valid for 10 trips on any transport network in the territories of Montreal, Longueuil and Laval, at a cost of $ 45, the equivalent of a unit rate of $ 4.50 by passage.

These adjustments aim to meet the more sporadic travel needs of many regular users, who no longer travel as often as before to go to work because of teleworking, and who no longer find more economical with monthly passes, because they have reduced their trips.

These tickets, which aim to offer more flexibility to users to find a ticket in their hands, were also claimed by the four transport companies in the metropolitan area, where the return of post-pandemic customers is slow to materialize.

In a press release, the Director General of the ARTM, Benoît Gendron, indicates that “the ARTM and its partners are fully aware that travel needs are, and will remain, different because our daily lives are changing and new habits are emerging. . ”
