Governor of Tamil Nadu RN Ravi, who is in Trichy to attend various events, left the Bharathidasan University campus this morning and went to Srirangam to perform Sami darshan. The governor’s convoy left the temple for Sami Darshan and proceeded to the university.
Due to this all the vehicles coming towards Trichy on Kollidam bridge were stopped for a while. The convoy crossed the ‘Y’ Road and proceeded towards the TVS tollgate on the Trichy-Chennai National Highway. Within hours of the convoy passing, vehicles parked for security were allowed to leave immediately. So the vehicles parked on the bridge went into disrepair.
Vehicles so passing began to cross the governor’s convoy. The convoy security police were shocked to see this. Meanwhile, Trichy Municipal Police Commissioner Karthikeyan reprimanded the guards who were on security duty there.
