Publication of a new issue of the Revue des FAR

Under the cover title “Royal Leadership and Unwavering Devotion”, the 421st issue of this bimonthly publication (April-May 2024) devotes a large space to the 68th anniversary of the creation of the FAR.

The publication returns to the Order of the Day addressed by HM King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the FAR, to the members of the Royal Armed Forces, the message of fidelity and loyalty addressed by the FAR family to the Sovereign, the lunch offered by His Majesty King Mohammed VI as well as the ceremony organized at the General Staff of the FAR, in addition to the striking images of this celebration across the Kingdom.

In this regard, the magazine states in its editorial that “May 14 of each year is a date marked with a white stone for the men and women of the Royal Armed Forces, all armies and weapons and all categories and ranks combined”, adding that “on that day, which coincides with the date of the anniversary of their creation, May 14, 1956, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, addresses to them the Order of the Day in which they draw the appreciation by their Supreme Commander of their achievements”.

In this sense, the magazine notes that “for this 68th anniversary, His Majesty the King has rewarded the Officers, the Non-Commissioned Officers and the Non-Commissioned Soldiers with this testimony which, while honoring and comforting them, encourages them to always move forward.”

In the field of international military cooperation, the review echoes the holding in Rabat, on May 20 and 21 at the headquarters of the General Staff of the FAR, of the 13th session of the Defense Advisory Committee under the chairmanship of the Inspector General of the FAR and the American Assistant Secretary for International Security Affairs.

The review also looks back at the visit of an American delegation from the Morocco-AFRICOM/GPOI cooperation program to the Center of Excellence for Peacekeeping Operations in Benslimane.

In addition, the review focused on the visit of a delegation from the Higher Military School of Niger to Morocco, led by Colonel Raphioua Oumarou Coulibaly, commander of the Higher Military School of the Niger Armed Forces.

The publication also reports that a working visit was made from April 18 to 20 by the Inspector of the German Navy, Admiral d’Esadre Jan Christian Kaack to the structures of the Royal Navy. It also echoes the visit made to Morocco from April 28 to 30 by a delegation of the Alliance led by Admiral Robert Peter Bauer, Chairman of the Military Committee and the study trip made to Morocco from May 4 to 12 by a delegation of the Command and Staff College of Ghana.

The same section returns to the holding, on the High Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, of the 18th conference of the Eastern Atlantic Hydrographic Commission, from April 29 to May 3, as well as the holding, from May 16 to 18, of the inaugural edition of the Forum of Directors of African War Schools.

And to recall the participation of the FAR in the maritime search and rescue exercise “SAREX Detroit 2024” organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests, from May 29 to 31 in Tangier.

For its part, the Zoom section is dedicated to the multinational exercise “Flintlock 2024” organized from May 11 to 24 by the United States Special Operations Command for Africa (SOCAF) and bringing together approximately 1,300 soldiers from 35 countries, including Morocco.

The Dossier of this new issue of the FAR magazine “African Lion 24” includes several subjects including “ACAMECS: intensive preparation for African Lion 2024”, “CPX: executive exercise”, “Airborne troops at work”, “SOFEX: flawless coordination for critical missions”, “ATX: successful combined air maneuvers” and “FTX: large-scale maneuvers within a strengthened alliance”.
