The investigation of the five in the Shin Bet and the central unit of the Hoof district – Ali Fathi Ali Atallah, about 20 years old, Karim Yosef Salim Atallah, about 23 years old, Wal Fakhri Muhammad Atallah, about 21 years old, and two other young men (the seven who committed the offense were minors), revealed that in November 2022, After the news of the kidnapping and possession of the body of the late Tiran Peru was published, the defendants decided to avenge his kidnapping. To this end, the five arrived on November 24, 2022, late at night, at the compound where Arab workers stay in Arka and kidnapped three residents of Jenin at gunpoint.
The Shin Bet reported: The five took the Arabs to an isolated area in the trunk of a car, forced them to make telephone contact with their family members and inform them that they had been kidnapped, severely assaulted them, while telling the victims that the attack came in light of their being Arabs and as revenge for the kidnapping of Tiran. After the attack, the defendants released the victims in a nearby area, who later required medical treatment.
The investigation also revealed that the suspects conspired ahead of time after viewing posts on social networks about the kidnapping of the Druze youth, equipped themselves with weapons, batons, knives, axes and face veils and looked for potential victims.
Their detention was extended from time to time and today 02.03.2023, with the conclusion of the investigation, the Haifa district attorney’s office filed indictments in the district court against those involved, for serious security offenses.
