Pucara, 81 agricultural producers from the Pucará canton, in the province of Azuay, benefit from the services of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG) with the Learning Communities of Family Farming and the legalization of productive associations.
Producers from the Patococha and Tipoloma communities received their graduation certificates after completing the 12 training modules on sustainable production, taught by MAG technicians through the Learning Communities. This certification recognizes the effort and dedication of farmers in Family Farming to improve their productive practices and ensure the sustainability of their activities.
The training in sustainable production covered key topics ranging from agricultural planning to advanced cultivation and marketing techniques. This knowledge will enable producers to apply more efficient and environmentally friendly practices, thus improving the quality of their products and their competitiveness in the market.
The MAG also proceeded to legalize four productive organizations in the canton, delivering the ministerial agreements that recognize the legal personality of the associations Patococha, Tipoloma, Manzanilla and Tullusiri. This formal recognition will allow these organizations to access a series of benefits and programs offered by public and private institutions, facilitating their growth and development.
The legalization of productive organizations is a crucial step to strengthen the organizational structure of producers, allowing them to access financing, technical assistance and other resources necessary to expand their activities.
Roxana Torres, MAG District Director in Azuay, reaffirmed the institutional commitment to Family Farming and highlighted the importance of these processes for rural development and food security in the country. “We seek to provide the necessary tools so that our producers can prosper and contribute to the well-being of their communities,” said Torres.
