Transferring the schools under the Puducherry government education department to CBSE curriculum will completely take away the power of education in our state. Also, there is a big risk that all the rights like admission of students in schools, appointment of teachers etc. will go to the hands of the Union Government. Puducherry is a unique state in which Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam are trilingual in the region, which follows the bilingual policy of mother tongue and English. The union minister’s statement that he will bring Puducherry education under a single umbrella is an attempt to impose Hindi through the CBSE syllabus.
Also, they are trying to directly destroy our students’ mother tongue resources, our language, culture, civilization and history. And we strongly condemn the Union Minister’s remark that the opposition parties are opposing the National Education Policy only for the sake of politics. This notification, which undermines the state curriculum that ensures balanced education, learning and teaching of students, must be withdrawn immediately.
The people should be informed that this request and announcement was made with the permission of Puduwa Chief Minister Rangasamy. They try to impose clan education program indirectly and directly. They deliberately confuse the parents by spreading the word that only if Hindi is taught in the CBSE syllabus, it is development. The CBSE curriculum will create a situation where people who know Tamil will not get employment after twenty years. North Indians dominate.
