Selvamuthu-Rita couple hail from Kallukaranpatti village near Kandarvakkottai in Pudukottai district. They have 3 daughters. The eldest daughter, Lokapriya, is studying for her MBA. They have been living in Pattukottai for the past few years. Rita works as a cashier at a public toilet in Pattukottai. Selvamuthu works as a painter and takes care of his family.
Lokapriya has been interested in weightlifting since childhood and has collected various medals in district, state and national sports competitions.
