Pujara has been ducked out of the Ranji Trophy match against Mumbai.

Rahane and Pujara, the senior players of the Indian team, have been playing poorly for many matches. Pujara scored hundreds in successive Tests against Australia in December 2018 and January 2019. That’s all. Pujara has not taken a single cent since January 2019 till today. Rahane is even worse. He led the goalless Indian team in December 2020 and helped the Indian team to victory by scoring a hundred in Melbourne. Rahane has taken only 3 half-centuries in the 28 innings he has played since the Melbourne Test.

Pujara and Rahane are both 33 years old. So the fans want both of them to participate in local cricket matches like Ranji and regain their talent.

The Ranji Trophy starts on February 17. Mumbai – Selarashtra clash in Ahmedabad. Rahane is in the Mumbai team led by Prithviraj Shah and Pujara in the Unadkat-led team.

Mumbai won the toss and elected to bat. Rahane was dismissed for 129. The 24-year-old Sarfraz Khan played immensely and scored 275 runs. Mumbai declared at 544 for 7 in 157 overs in the first innings.

Today, the national team is batting. Pujara, who made his debut as the fourth batsman, was bowled out for a disappointing Mohit Awasthi.

During the lunch break, the Selarashtra team stumbled with 126 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 39 overs.
