2021 was a year of great loss for Kannada movie lovers. It was the demise of Puneeth Rajkumar whom they fondly addressed as Appu. Now Puneeth’s last film in front of the camera is getting ready to reach the audience. But this is not a feature film but a docudrama. Titled Gandada Gudi, the film is directed by Amoghavarsha JS. The trailer of the film is out.
Many celebrities, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, took to social media to wish the trailer and remember Puneeth. Puneeth’s wife Ashwini tagged Prime Minister Narendra Modi while sharing the trailer on Twitter. Ashwini noted that it was an emotional day for them and it was a project close to Appu’s heart. Ashwini’s tweet said that Puneeth had pondered the conversations with Angu and if he was there, he would have shared this trailer with Angu personally. Modi’s tweet was a response to this.

Apu lives in the hearts of millions of people around the world. A man of great talent, a man of great energy, a man of prodigious talents. Gandada Gudi is a tribute to Mother Nature and Karnataka’s natural beauty and environmental stewardship. All my best wishes for this initiative, Modi tweeted.
