(Malik Ashraf) Punjab government has decided to appoint additional and assistant advocate general on the basis of comity.

According to the details, the seats of law officers in the Advocate General Punjab Office have been reduced from 96 to 66. According to the sources, the appointment of new law officers in the Advocate General Office will be done by a 4-member committee, which will include the Chief Secretary, Secretary Law and Advocate General.

According to the sources, the law officers who do not meet the merit will be dismissed, while the law officers who meet the merit will be allowed to continue working.

Sources further say that for the Assistant Advocate General, it was made mandatory to appear as a lawyer and submit judgments in 20 cases, while for the Additional Advocate General, it was made mandatory to appear as a lawyer and submit judgments in 30 cases.

According to the sources, the Additional Advocate General will have to submit 5 report judgments, for the Assistant Advocate General, 3 report judgments will be submitted, in addition to this, it has been declared mandatory for the Additional Advocate General to have a license from the Supreme Court, while the performance of law officers will be reviewed every six months, better performance. Only the acting law officers will be able to continue the work.

According to the sources, the Finance Department eliminated the salary budget of 30 law officers on April 5, while the salaries of only 66 law officers will be released next month.
