The Sumaq Wasi bioclimatic houses will be built in the population centers of Chucuito, Huancané, Moho and Carabaya.

The Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation (MVCS) is taking steps to start, next June, the construction of a new group of 931 Sumaq Wasi bioclimatic houses for the population of rural areas of the Puno region.

The supplemental credit approved by Law 31436 will allow the National Rural Housing Program (PNVR) of the MVCS to finance with S/ 33.2 million the execution of these houses in populated centers of the provinces of Chucuito, Huancane, Mohhey Carabaya.

The construction of these bioclimatic houses will benefit more than 3,700 inhabitants, who will be sheltered from the extreme temperatures and of the frost.

Las bioclimatic houses Sumaq Wasi are built in the poorest rural areas of the country through the executing nucleus modality, that is, the beneficiary population itself organizes itself and is in charge of the administration process, while the MVCSthrough the PNVR, provides financing, training and technical assistance.

The Sumaq Wasi have a bioclimatic design that captures the sun during the day, and allows them to retain heat inside at night, which provides thermal comfort to the beneficiary families.
