After visiting the Purbachale stadium on Saturday (August 31), Farooq talked to reporters about the future. To a question about the construction of the stadium, the BCB president said, ‘Two fields were allowed here, it was supposed to be a big stadium. At the moment, we may not be able to make such a big budget.’

For now, BCB’s plan is to build a field suitable for playing, so here we will first start with one field and then try the adjacent field. You can see soon, I will start the field work.’

BCB gets 3 thousand 735.70 percent space from the government at a nominal price. The market value of which is approximately 3 thousand 549 crores 42 lakhs 32 thousand 872 taka. The cost of the stadium was estimated at Rs 900 crore. However, due to the increase in the price of goods, the budget of up to one and a half thousand crores was also heard.

The board has already paid Tk 76 crore to the consulting firm Populash. BCB President said, ‘We have already invested in a suggestion. It should be carried forward without making any major changes. Because you can’t do everything in one day.’

“First, build the field and dressing room. They had a plan… I will try. I have not seen their plan. It is not true to say. Still, as far as common sense is understood, I will do the field according to that advice.’
