The meeting of the presidents of Russia and the United States by video link is scheduled for Tuesday evening, Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of President Vladimir Putin, told RIA Novosti.

According to Peskov, the heads of state themselves will determine how long the communication will last. He did not name the exact time of the beginning of the negotiations.

The administration of US President Joe Biden notes that he intends to discuss with Putin the situation around Ukraine and declare his concern about Russia’s military activity near the borders with Ukraine, Reuters also reports, citing a White House spokesman.

Earlier, Putin’s aide Yuri Ushakov said that the conversation would take place after the visit of the Russian President to India, which is scheduled for December 6.

According to Ushakov, the leaders of Russia and the United States during the conversation will discuss bilateral relations, the implementation of the Geneva agreements, the situation in Afghanistan, Iran, Libya, Syria and Ukraine.

Also, Putin and Biden will touch upon the issue of strategic stability. We are talking about the proposal of the Russian president to hold talks on reaching agreements that would exclude further NATO advance to the east and the deployment of weapons that threaten Russia’s security in the immediate vicinity of its territory.
