Putin and Mishustin voted in the elections to the State Duma online

Russian President Vladimir Putin voted in the elections via online voting. The President has been on self-isolation since September 14, after those infected with coronavirus were identified in his entourage. Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin also took part in the electronic voting.

“As you can see, under the conditions of sanitary restrictions, quarantine, I fulfilled my civic duty in electronic format,” said Mr Putin in a video message posted on the Kremlin’s website.

“The process is over,” Mr. Mishustin said after the vote (video posted on the government’s website).

The elections to the State Duma will last until September 19. The format of remote electronic voting is used in Moscow, Sevastopol, Kursk, Nizhny Novgorod, Yaroslavl, Murmansk and Rostov regions.
