Russian President Vladimir Putin has accused Kyiv of “destructive” policies and sharply criticized the increasing western supply of arms to Ukraine. In a phone call with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Putin “pointed out the destructive line of the Kiev regime,” the Kremlin said after the conversation today.

The Ukrainian government “is counting on an intensification of hostilities with the support of Western sponsors, who are increasing the supply of weapons and military equipment,” it said.

According to the Kremlin, the two presidents also discussed the exchange of prisoners, “mainly the wounded,” between Moscow and Kyiv. According to Turkish information, Erdogan confirmed Turkey’s willingness to support possible peace negotiations between the two sides in the telephone conversation.
