President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin expressed condolences to the families of those killed in connection with the crash of the AZAL plane on the Baku-Grozny flight in Aktau.
As Day.Az reports, opening an informal meeting of the heads of CIS member states, V. Putin noted that as a result of the plane crash there were dead and many injured.
“A tragedy occurred today in Aktau. A plane crashed, there are dead, many wounded. On your behalf, I want to express condolences to the families of the victims and all those injured. Let’s hope for their recovery,” V. Putin said.
Let us remind you that today an Embraer 190 passenger plane flying on the Baku-Grozny route crashed 3 km from Aktau airport. The Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan reported that there were 37 Azerbaijani citizens on board the plane that crashed in the city of Aktau.
“According to preliminary data, there were 37 citizens of Azerbaijan, 6 citizens of Kazakhstan, 3 citizens of Kyrgyzstan, and 16 citizens of Russia on board the plane,” the ministry said in a statement.
According to AZAL, there were 62 passengers, 5 crew members and a total of 67 people on board the Embraer 190 flight from Baku to Grozny that crashed in the city of Aktau.
