MOSCOW: Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced the “liberation” of the Ukrainian port city of Mariupol. The city was completely besieged by Russian troops.
The control of the southeastern coastal city of Mariupol is a major military strategic achievement for Russia. The Mariupol route provides direct access to previously occupied Crimea from Ukraine and areas under Russian rebel control in eastern Ukraine.
