Russian President Vladimir Putin has threatened to deploy Russia’s new “Devil 2” nuclear missile that can reach Britain in just three minutes, by the end of 2022. The Russian president also said the country will continue to increase its military build-up following the damage inflicted during its ongoing invasion of Ukraine. His soldiers who fought “like heroes.”

Speaking on Tuesday, while hosting graduates of the Kremlin military academy, Putin said Russia would deploy Sarmat-type ballistic missiles by the end of the year as part of efforts to “protect Russia,” the Daily Telegraph reports.

The “Devil 2” is the longest-range intercontinental ballistic missile in the world, capable of hitting a target at a distance of about 15,000 kilometers, meaning it can easily hit targets in the US and Europe.

Putin has previously hailed the development of the missile, which was successfully launched in April, as a “major and significant event” for Russia’s defense industry, saying the missile “will ensure Russia’s security from external threats, and make those who try to threaten a country with aggressive rhetoric think twice.”

Western military experts say the missile is capable of carrying 10 or more nuclear warheads easily enough to wipe out British or French-sized areas in a single attack.
