Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered to ensure by November amendments that would exempt families with children from home sales tax if they buy a new apartment later. The instruction is contained in the list published on the Kremlin’s website following the participation of the head of state in the United Russia congress.

“Ensure the introduction of amendments to the legislation of the Russian Federation, providing for the exemption of families with two or more children from the payment of personal income tax when selling a dwelling that has been owned for less than five years, in the event that funds received from its sale are sent within a calendar year to purchase another residential premises in order to improve living conditions, ”the document says.

The instruction states that the report must be prepared by November 1, 2021.

During the event, the President also drew attention to the fact that families are often faced with the fact that the purchased housing is too small due to the appearance of new children.

Earlier at the SPIEF, Putin proposed expanding the family mortgage program, which allows taking out a mortgage in a new building or refinancing an existing loan at a preferential rate of 6% for families with one child born after January 1, 2018.
