Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the government to develop and approve a plan for the development of nature-like technologies within six months. This is stated in decreewhich is published on the official portal of legal information.

In addition to preparing a development plan, Vladimir Putin ordered “to create an advanced scientific infrastructure, form human resources and conduct scientific research” in this area. The conduct of scientific research in the field of nature-like technologies will be managed by the National Research Center Kurchatov Institute.

According to the decree, the government needs to assess this industry in Russia and determine the volume, as well as sources of financing for the implementation of the development plan.

The concept of “nature-likeness” is based on copying nature in the development of modern technologies. The world’s first complex for studying this area appeared in 2009 at the Kurchatov Institute.

Speaking at the 70th UN General Assembly in 2015, Vladimir Putin said that nature-like technologies “do not cause damage to the environment” and make it possible to “restore the balance between the biosphere and the technosphere that has been disturbed by man.” In 2018, the Russian president already signed a decree on the development of nature-like technologies, in which he also appointed the Kurchatov Institute responsible for research.
