Russian President Vladimir Putin said that before leaving for self-isolation, he spent the whole day talking with a colleague, who, as it turned out later, was sick with coronavirus. The head of state added that this incident will test the Russian Sputnik V vaccine against COVID-19, which he was vaccinated with.
“In my closest environment, several people fell ill. And one of these employees is a person who works with me in the immediate vicinity – he was vaccinated, his titers dropped, and he revaccinated, apparently a little late, I think three days after vaccination he got sick. I talked to him all day the day before, ”the president said at a meeting with members of the government and the leadership of United Russia.
“Why am I saying this – this is a natural experiment: let’s see how Sputnik V actually works in practice, because, according to general data, my titles are quite high. Let’s see how it will look in practice, in real life. I hope that everything will be as it should be, and Sputnik V will really show its high parameters for protection against COVID-19 in real life, ”the president added.
Today, September 14, Vladimir Putin announced that he must go into self-isolation due to cases of coronavirus in his environment. Presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said that Mr. Putin is absolutely healthy and has already passed a negative test for COVID-19.
