Will Abbas be a mediator? The Russian news agency RIA reports that Russian President Vladimir Putin has spoken by telephone with the chairman of the Palestinian Authority or Balance regarding negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.
As you may recall, in March it was already reported that the Prime Minister, Naftali Bennett, mediated between talks on the draft ceasefire agreement between Russia and Ukraine.
Bennett met with Putin in Moscow and talked extensively with Zalansky and the Russian president, which allegedly helped the initial agreement reached by the parties. According to the report, Turkish President Erdogan also had a part in the compromise.
But since then the situation between Russia and Ukraine has deteriorated greatly, and both sides are moving very far from compromise. The Ukrainians refuse the demands of the Russians to surrender, while the Russians continue to crush Russia, and try to launch a new offensive that will give them back the advantage.
