President Vladimir Putin said that electronic voting, like technological progress, cannot be stopped; it is important to monitor the quality of its conduct. The chairman of United Russia, Dmitry Medvedev, who took part in a meeting between Mr Putin and the leaders of the parties that entered the State Duma, called electronic voting a dictate of the times.
“With regard to elections and electronic voting. You know, you can not do this, but modern means and methods of expression of will, as well as technical progress, cannot be stopped. The question is not in what form it is carried out, but in control over the quality of these events, ”said the President (quoted by RIA Novosti).
Mr. Medvedev expressed confidence that the approaches to this format of voting will be able to be worked out. “In any case, all the best that has been obtained as a result of these new technologies should remain in the future. This is the imperative of the times, and I am sure that here we can work out the best approaches together, ”Dmitry Medvedev said.
Earlier, the Communist Party did not recognize the results of the elections in Moscow. The party announced about “big falsifications” committed during the counting of electronic votes. Elections were held throughout the country from September 17-19. Online voting was used in Moscow, Sevastopol, as well as in the Murmansk, Kursk, Nizhny Novgorod, Yaroslavl and Rostov regions.
