The Swiss Open Badminton Tournament is taking place in Basel. In the women’s singles, Olympic gold medalist PV Sindhu of India defeated Denmark’s Line Hodgemark Geersfeld 21-14, 21-12. Thus, he qualified for the second round. In the next match, he is set to face China’s Nestlian Ijit.
Also, in the women’s doubles, India’s Aswini Ponnappa-N Sikh Reddy pair clashed with Switzerland’s Alain Mல்லller-Genjira Stadelman pair. India won the match 21-15, 21-16.
In the men’s doubles, India’s MR Arjun and Dhruv Kapila will face off against Indonesia’s Bazar Albion and Mohammad Ryan. The Indians lost the match 19-21, 13-21.
