Pyeongtaek City (Mayor Jeong Jang-seon) announced that Anjung Market was selected for the 2025 Culture and Tourism Specialized Market Development Project (project cost up to KRW 1 billion), a public offering project hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.

As a result, Pyeongtaek City has selected Anjung Market for the 2025-2026 project, followed by Tongbok Market in 2021-2022 and Songtan Market in 2023-2024, and will continue to promote cultural tourism-type specialized market development projects for 6 consecutive years. It is expected that it will revitalize the area.

The cultural tourism-type specialized market development project is a project that supports merchant projects that focus on nurturing the market’s unique strengths by linking local culture and tourism resources. The goal is to develop market tour courses, foster tourism content, and develop local sales channels for two years. In the case of Anjung Market, we plan to promote various projects to make Anjung Market a ‘culture and art gallery where people want to stay and visit.’

In particular, he requested that every effort be made to promote construction so that the schedule for moving into apartments in the Hwayang district scheduled for the second half of this year can be achieved without disruption.

Meanwhile, Hwayang District is a large-scale urban development project being built with 20,388 households in an area of ​​2,792,500 m2, and various infrastructure facilities such as the Western Branch Office, commercial facilities, parks, and schools are scheduled to be built.
