The Portuguese League Cup match between Qarabag’s opponents in the Europa League playoffs Braga and Estoril has ended. According to İdman.biz, the game took place at the Magalhaes Pessoa stadium in Leiria, Portugal. The match started at 23:45. The main time of the match ended in a draw with the score 1:1. Braga won the penalty shootout (5:4) and won the trophy.
In the sixth minute, the visiting Brazilian forward Cassiano opened the scoring from the penalty spot. Even before the break, in the 20th minute, the score was tied by Portuguese winger Ricardo Horta with a pass from Rodrigo Zalazar.
In the penalty shootout, Braga players managed to convert five out of five attempts. The goalscorers were: Al-Musrati, Luis Miguel Pizzi, Abel Ruiz, Alejandro Marquez, Volney Feltes. Thiago Tavares failed to hit home goalkeeper Matheus with his first shot.
Braga won the League Cup for the third time in history (2013, 2020 and 2023) and lost in the final two more times (2017, 2021). Estoril played in the final of this tournament for the first time.
