The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, the country that mediates the truce agreement between Israel and the terrorist organization Hamasstated this Tuesday (28) that 69 people kidnapped on October 7, on Israeli soil, have left the Gaza Strip in recent days.

The release of hostages is part of the agreement, which requires Israel to also release a greater number of Palestinian prisoners.

At a press conference in Doha, Majed Al Ansari today announced the beginning of the extension of the truce that is in force since early morning last Friday (24). Today and tomorrow there must be the release of another 20 hostages on the terrorist side and another 60 prisoners on the Israeli side.

Israeli state TV Kan 11 says nine minors, including a 10-month-old baby and a 4-year-old boy, continue to be held hostage in Gaza.

Al Ansari added that the Qatari government is strengthening mediation talks to achieve a permanent ceasefire.

Among the hostages released in recent days are women (some elderly) and children, as well as foreign citizens, the latter as part of parallel agreements between their governments and Hamas, as Israel’s agreement initially provided for the release of 40 hostages.

Israel says 240 people were taken to the Gaza Strip in the October 7 terrorist attackswhich resulted in a strong Israeli military response in Palestinian territory.
