/ The Qatari national team defeated the Tajikistan national team 1-0 in the second round of Group 1 in the 2023 Asian Cup, to be the first team to qualify for the round of 16 with 6 points before playing its match in the third round against China.
The match took place at 5:30 pm at Al Bayt Stadium in the Qatari capital, Doha.
The first half ended with the Qatari team leading by one goal to none. Qatar’s goal came through Akram Afifi in the 17th minute.
The result did not change in the second half until the referee blew his whistle, announcing the end of the match with a Qatari victory by a single goal.
The match witnessed the expulsion of Tajik player Kamil Of in the 80th minute for deliberately playing dangerously against the Qatari player, so the Tajik team completed the match with ten players.
