/ The Qatar national team defeated the Tajikistan national team with a score of 1-0 in the second round of Group A in the 2023 Asian Cup, to be the first team to qualify for the round of 16 with 6 points, before playing its match in the third round against China.
The match took place at five-thirty in the afternoon at Al-Bayt Stadium in the Qatari capital, Doha.
The first half ended with the Qatari team leading with a free goal. Qatar’s goal came from Akram Afifi in the 17th minute.
The score did not change in the second half until the referee blew his whistle, announcing the end of the match with a Qatari victory by a single goal.
The match witnessed the expulsion of the Tajik player Kamil Ov in the 80th minute for deliberately playing dangerously against the Qatari player, so the Tajikistan national team completed the match with ten players.
