Doha: During the World Cup in Qatar, money and valuable documents were stolen from the bag of an Argentinian media worker. The incident took place just before the opening match between Argentina and Ecuador. The theft took place in the Corniche area of Doha.
Dominique Metzger, a media activist, said that a police report has been filed about the theft. Metzger is a reporter for the Argentine media outlet Todo Noticias.
While dancing with the crowd, the thief may have unzipped the bag and taken cash and documents, Metzger said. After completing the reporting, the theft came to our attention when we reached for our purse to buy a water bottle. A complaint was lodged with the police immediately. Dominic Metzger said that the police have assured that the suspect will be caught.
