(Reuters) – Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani has sent a new bid to buy Manchester United, believed to be worth around 5 billion pounds (just over $6 billion), broadcaster Sky Sports News reported on Saturday.

The son of a former Qatari prime minister, Al Thani began the process of trying to buy the English club in February. A spokesman for Al Thani said at the time that the proposal was completely debt-free, through its Nine Two Foundation.

Manchester United did not immediately respond to Reuters’ request for comment at first.

Finnish entrepreneur Thomas Zilliacus also tendered on Thursday and told Reuters he was willing to pay a premium for the Premier League club.

British billionaire Jim Ratcliffe, a United fan and founder of chemical producer INEOS, tendered for the club in February.

The Glazer family, current owners of United, began looking at options for the biggest English champions in November, including new investments or a possible sale, 17 years after buying the Old Trafford club.
