Doha: Qatar will not impose value added tax (VAT) immediately, Finance Minister Ali Bibi Ahmad al-Quwari reported. In an interview with a television channel during the Qatar Economic Forum, he explained that such taxes would be implemented at an inopportune time.

Of the Gulf states, only Qatar and Kuwait have yet to implement the VAT. He said tax reform was one of their future plans. He said last year that the Kovid context would not immediately impose another burden on the people and that it had not decided when the value-added tax would be implemented.
