Doha: Qatar’s population has crossed 28.5 million by the end of May, according to the Planning and Statistics Authority (PSA). There are currently 28,52,886 people in Qatar, including 20,65,451 men and 7,87,435 women.
The PSA also noted an increase in population (26,28,512) compared to last year’s.
Meanwhile, the PSA has released its April monthly report, which includes key statistics for April this year. According to the PSA, 695 road accident cases were reported in April, down 14.2 per cent from the previous month but an annual increase of 37.6 per cent. According to the report, 91 per cent of road accidents in April were minor injuries and only six per cent were serious injuries.
19 car accident deaths were reported in April. In April, 245 marriages were registered while 157 divorce cases were registered, according to the PSA report. 1567 births and 218 deaths were reported during this period.
