(24 News) All over the country, the by-elections are in full swing, voting is going on in 5 constituencies of the National Assembly and 16 constituencies of the Provincial Assembly.

According to Election Commission, the polling started at 8 am which will continue till 5 pm without any break. By-elections for National Assembly seats are being held in 2 constituencies of Punjab, 2 constituencies of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and one of Sindh.

The by-elections on the seats of provincial assemblies include 12 seats of Punjab Assembly, 2 seats of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan Assembly. More than 4 million 44 thousand voters will exercise their right to vote in Punjab. Sheikhupura Constituency PP 139 1 lakh 86 thousand voters will exercise their right to vote in Ferozwala.

Muslim League-N, Sunni Ittehad Council, independent candidates are a thorn in the side

The process of polling for the by-election has also started in Talagang PP-22 district. 2 lakh 87 thousand 567 voters will use their vote today in PP 22. In PP 22, a big fight is expected between Malik Falak Sher Awan of PML-N and Hakeem Nisar Ahmed of Sunni Ittehad Council. 215 polling stations and 641 polling booths were established for the by-election.

Strict security arrangements, police, Pakistan Army and Civil Armed Forces troops have been deployed

According to IG Punjab, Punjab Police is ready to conduct peaceful and transparent by-elections. He says that out of 2599 polling stations in Punjab, 419 are highly sensitive, 1081 are declared sensitive. There are strict security arrangements at 663 male, 649 female, 1289 joint polling stations. More than 35 officers and men including ladies police personnel are deployed for security.
