Qualcomm introduced the Wireless AR Smart Viewer

by time news

Qualcomm has introduced a new reference model for augmented reality glasses that meets the name Wireless AR Smart Viewer Reference. This model should serve as a basis for manufacturers who want to enter the market for the first time, or who want to accelerate the entry into the market of new augmented reality products.

The glasses work wirelessly in front of a phone or computer, and each eye offers a microLED display in 1080p resolution with a refresh rate of 90 Hz. The glasses incorporate three cameras, two of which are monochromatic, and the combination with the display in advanced technology should prevent blurring of the image while moving the head.

Wireless AR Smart Viewer Reference is about 40% thinner than Qualcomm’s previous reference model, so they are closer to the thickness of regular eyeglasses. They are based, of course, on the company’s Snapdragon X2 platform, and they offer WiFi 6E and Bluetooth connectivity with a delay time of not supposed to be 3 milliseconds.

According to the company already a number of manufacturers have taken this reference kit from it, and the market is expected to see some models of new augmented reality glasses over the next few months.
