Quarrels, curses and violent brawls: This is what the parliament in Jordan looks like today

by time news

The Jordanian parliament is holding a debate today (Tuesday) on a number of constitutional reforms, including a reform of gender equality. The debate, which was broadcast live, soon escalated into fights between MPs, and in addition, a violent confrontation developed between the deputy speaker of parliament and the speaker himself.

The debate erupted after a debate was held on amending a law that would ensure gender equality in the constitution. During the debate some MPs angrily complained about the amendment claiming it was “useless”. But then, a heated quarrel developed between MPs that led to swearing and violent fights.

After the parties separated from each other, the continuation of the debate in parliament was canceled, and another debate is scheduled for tomorrow.
