Queen Sonja was present on Thursday during the exhibition by the artist Leonard Rickhard at the Astrup Fearnley art museum in Oslo.
The artist Leonard Rickhard passed away on January 7 this year. He fell asleep peacefully on January 7 after a short illness, aged 78.
Before he died, he managed to finish the exhibition – and Thursday was the opening of “Leonard Rickhard: Between construction and collapse” at the Astrup Fearnley Museum in Oslo.
Queen Sonja, among others, was present at the opening. Oslo mayor Anne Lindbo and the artist’s spouse Berit Rickhard were also present at the opening.
The exhibition has been installed as he and curator Solveig Øvstebø planned it over the past three years, the museum writes on its websites.
– It is very sad that Leonard himself did not get to see the exhibition. We miss him very much, says director at Astrup Fearnley Museum Solveig Øvstebø NRK.
Rickhard is considered one of the most central artists in Norway in his generation.
