Quentin Tarantino is returning to television: he will direct a new series during 2023

by time news

Now it’s probably final: legendary filmmaker Quentin Tarantino is returning to the small screen. 18 years after he surprised the world and directed two wonderful episodes of the CSI series, yesterday the director who spends most of his time in Tel Aviv, with his wife Daniela Pick and their two children, announced an eight-episode television project that he will direct next year in the United States (you didn’t think he was going to direct 12, yes?).

Tarantino did not reveal any production or plot details, but confirmed the rumor that has been doing the rounds in Hollywood for the past year. Last February, his name was linked to a spin-off of the successful western series “Justified” on FX, but it seems that the project eventually moved forward without him (filming of the series ended last month). A few years ago, his name was linked to a new television production from the “Star Trek” series and he even met with producer JJ Abrahams for the purpose, but the two did not reach an artistic agreement and Tarantino gave up on the project.

Last February, Tarantino was a guest at the Tel Aviv Cinematheque for the screening of his film “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” and in a conversation in front of an audience with journalist Benjamin Tobias he reiterated his desire to work in a television format. Tarantino has been in the United States for the last few weeks to promote his new book, “Cinematic Speculation”, which includes a series of articles on the films that shaped him as a creator, as well as to promote the NFT series of works based on his films.
