At the beginning of his career there is a failed attempt. But Quentin Tarantino learned a lot from that.

Hamburg.

The US director and screenwriter Quentin Tarantino (59) only managed to become a great director because of his perseverance.

As a young man, he tried to make a movie and failed, he said at the OMR digital festival in Hamburg. “The fact that I didn’t stop after that is perhaps the proudest fact of my career.”

He never went to film school, but he learned a lot by trying. “I’ve gotten better just by doing it.” A little later after the movie, which never became a movie, he wrote the screenplay for “True Romance”. The film starring Patricia Arquette, Christian Slatter, Gary Oldmann and Dennis Hopper was released in 1993 – and has become a cult film among Tarantino fans. (dpa)
