jpnn.comJAKARTA – Semarang Mayor Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu alias Ita has finished undergoing examination as a witness in an alleged corruption case for almost three hours.
After being questioned, the mayor, who is familiarly called Mbak Ita, admitted that she had given her statement to investigators from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
“Today I fulfilled the summons that should have been on Tuesday (30/7), because there was a plenary activity that the regional head had to attend. So, today I fulfilled the summons and thank God it was in accordance with the procedure and I just ask for your prayers,” said Ita at the KPK’s Red and White Building, Jakarta, Thursday (1/8).
Ita began undergoing questioning at 09.00 WIB and left the KPK Office at 11.37 WIB. Ita was reluctant to answer when confirmed about her candidacy as Mayor of Semarang again.
“I ask for prayers that everything goes according to procedure. I have no comment on the nomination issue,” said Ita.
“Enough, just give it to the investigator, okay, please just pass it on to the investigator,” he continued.
Today, the KPK also examined Alwin Basri as the Chairman of Commission D of the Central Java Provincial DPRD and Ita’s husband. This is the second examination for the person concerned.
“That’s right brother AB [Alwin Basri] asked for information,” said KPK spokesperson Tessa Mahardhika Sugiarto via written message.
Ms. Ita began undergoing KPK examination at 09.00 WIB and left the KPK office at 11.37 WIB.
